Trust led him to become part of the 'Empretec Impact Fund'

Miguel Aguilar is an entrepreneur who breaks barriers. His passion for innovation has driven him to learn and master the development of technological souvenirs that preserve cherished memories through empirical knowledge.

His SME, AquíEs, is currently developing unique products such as acrylic spheres printed with 360º photographs and virtual tours that showcase panoramic digital images on a website, offering users immersive experiences.

Miguel became part of the CELIEM Community last year through the BAC Impulsa program. He subsequently participated in the Empretec workshop, currently benefits from a business mentoring membership, and was selected as a recipient of the Empretec Impact Fund, supported by the Development Banking System.

We had the opportunity to speak with Miguel about his entrepreneurial journey:

How did the Empretec workshop help you improve your business?

Empretec gave me greater confidence because, before, I often sought approval from others. Now, I feel more secure in seizing opportunities and leveraging the connections my business creates. That kind of confidence was vital for me, as I used to doubt myself and feel weak in decision-making. The workshop strengthened my self-assurance, teaching me that it’s not about learning to do calculations but about making quick, timely, and well-analyzed decisions.”

“The sphere project complements my existing ideas. However, due to the type of investment required, financial support was essential. AquíEs is designed as a souvenir solution. For the virtual tours, we select an image, print it, and use it as a keepsake that incorporates 360º motion with the support of a sphere. This innovative approach inspired me to apply for the fund.
The business plan I proposed is somewhat ambitious, incorporating several products. I’m self-taught and consider myself someone who learns by doing. When something piques my interest, I dive in to study it because I need to understand how to better present my products to the market.”

What achievements stand out most in your journey?

“The confidence I’ve gained, the ability to make decisions, and my networking skills. Now I know when and how to apply all the advice I’ve received. My biggest accomplishment has been on a personal level and in follow-through. I realized that technical aspects were no longer my priority; instead, I needed to focus on human and business relationship skills. This has been an incredible opportunity, and I feel I’m on the right path.”
